ridiculously, awesomely geeky.

About this Amplog

"Rigeekulous - Ridiculously, awesomely geeky" is a Clog of everything we read that fits that description. Example:
"Check it out, I just completed a lifesize model of megaman out of legos."

"Wow. That's rigeekulous."

Tetris cake with actual blocks!

This is great! I would buy a cupcake mold that made blocks in these shapes pretty much on the spot :)

new tetris game cake

I am sure people who come up with Tetris goodies are the ones who have obsessively made love to that game and feel a tribute to it is long overdue. While some did their deed in the form of wacky designs and concepts, but foodies nailed it with a Cake. The big Tetris Cake here has neat blocks from the game iced with lively colors and perfection.

Skateboards + neon + a big hill = giant street Tetris!

This looks like way too much fun! Kudos to the group that put it together - that’s a whole lot of EL wire!

Two awesome concept video game shirts

Geekologie’s got the scoop on two amazing design concepts for shirts for geeky girls. I love the subtleness of the pac-man shirt. It’s not a giant in-your-face logo, but wonderfully geeky just the same.

This is a picture of two conceptual video game shirts that Geekologie tipster Jessica sent me. Aaaaand that’s all the information we have. Anybody seen these before? Are they being manufactured? Do YOU want to manufacture them? Because if you do I swear I won’t tell the original designer or the Pac-Man and Tetris copyright owners. IRead more at www.geekologie.com

Attract Mode - Online Videogame Culture shop

Wired’s Game|Life blog is featuring the cleverly named web-store “Attract Mode” in a post today, and something about it just caught my eye. They’re carrying a really well curated selection of ‘zines, shirts, stuff, and some of the best chiptune music there is (I’m literally wearing an Anamanaguchi t-shirt right now).

With so many smaller brick & mortar stores closing and massive web shops like Amazon and Ebay getting all the press, it’s great to see a really well chosen collection like this spring up as an independent web store.

attractmode

Robezzoli offers a selection of quality chiptune CDs by artists like YMCK and Anamanaguchi, original T-shirts, and high-end art prints by superbrothers (aka Craig D. Adams.)

If none of that fun stuff sounds attractive you can always grab one of those nifty Icetris ice cube trays.

Tetris tattoo too much for you? Try this bracelet.

If the Tetris Tattoos we featured a few days ago went a little bit beyond your commitment to the classic block stacker but you’re still a fan, you might be interested in this piece that’s making it’s way around the geek blogs today. Done in lucite, this bracelet takes the “retro” in “retro-fashion” to mean “8-bit”, and I wholeheartedly approve.

The Tetris bracelet isn’t vintage in theory since it’s a new production, but it does have a retro style that geeky gamers might just fall for. Read more at inventorspot.com

Tetris Tattoos!

Sara and I have been playing a lot of the new Tetris game for Wii-ware and it’s pretty incredible, and very worth the $10. Smooth control, great multiplayer modes and online play, lots of variations on the game and lots of new play dynamics like weapons make it one of our current favorites. So, when geekologie featured Tetris Tattoos, I had to share them here - they’ve got a bunch more at the source.

Life-size Tetris on your coffee table

This 64 pixel RGB coffee table is really beautiful, and now that it’s creator has wired it up to a computer, ready for some life-size tetris action.

Want.

There’s a Tetris Wiki!?

Clipped from www.tetrisconcept.com:

Who knew that there was a full wiki of Tetris related info? There’s tons of info on the history of Tetris, it’s clones and various implementations, and more.
